London Calling!

(beep)

Ay up future anna!

Even though the tubes and the super fast pace stresses me OUT!! I love travelling to London and exploring! Yesterday, me and some friends went to Shakespeare's Globe to see MACBETH! A few of us had been before to see A Midsummer Nights Dream around my birthday, and we loved it so much that we decided to go and see something else.

The show was INCREDIBLE! Like seriously!! It was directed by Iqbal Khan, and even though there is moments of comedy throughout the play (even around the deaths of major characters), Khan had stayed true to the ideas that Shakespeare may have had and created tension through it. The set was the traditional stage, but with panels of curved, thick, black wire. This kind of panelling also created a door to help with dramatic entrances. I feel like I am writing a drama essay, ha!

Hubble, Bubble, Toil, and Trouble! THE WITCHES WERE INCREDIBLE! Khan used elements of puppets, smoke, and music to create scary and large characters that could haunt Macbeth and his future. Talking about Macbeth, THE CAST WERE INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone was so skilled in the characters they played, and as Shakespearian language can sometimes be hard to understand, you can tell when people are great actors when they play more than one character and you can see the difference and you think they are different characters. Does that make sense? I can't really explain it but I know what I mean. ALSO LADY MACBETH WAS PLAYED BY TARA FITZGERALD WHO WAS IN GAME OF THRONES! AHHHHHH!!

I don't want to give too much away as going to the Globe is a super special experience, and if you get the chance to go, GO GO GO!!! (p.s. It isn't expensive to go! The cheapest tickets are £5 because they want it to be accessible to everyone!)

Whilst I was in London, I was able to go to the new Tate 360 thing where you can see a 360' view of London from the top floor of the Tate gallery. I felt like I was on the cover of the 'WILD WORLD' album from Bastille!

Anyway, I managed to get there and back home safe, so until next time, feel free to carry on being crazy fast paced London!

See ya later future anna! (p.s. you probably need to top up your oyster card for next time!)

Harry Potter Wants To Speak To You

(beep)

Hey, it's me again. Or you? We need to get this thing sorted but now is not the time.

I have something more important to talk about. I WENT TO THE HARRY POTTER STUDIOS!!!

Ever since it was opened to the public in 2012, I have begged my parents to take me. So on Saturday 24th September 2016, I was finally able to enter the Great Hall and see how the Harry Potter movies were created.

I don't know if you will be able to see this beautiful collage of photos I have put together over the phone, but if you can, here you go:

It was incredible. Seriously. As I am really into films, I found it so so so interesting to see the props, and sets and how the directors and the creators turned the books into what we have seen on the big screen!

One of my FAVOURITE scenes is in Deathly Hallows when Voldemort and his crew (including Snape) are sat around a large table at Malfoy Manor, and they torture the Hogwarts teacher Charity Burbage. Nagini then eats her. Even though this is a disgusting moment which is horrible to watch, it is so powerful and the fact that I was able to see the costumes, the set, and how they made it, is crazy to me. (I also love when Bellatrix is torturing Hermione. I know I sound really sick, but from a director/writer/creative point of view, it is such a powerful moment that sparks Ron and fills him with courage.)

As I am writing this, I still can't believe that I have been able to go to the ACTUAL STUDIOS WHERE HARRY POTTER WAS MADE!! It is now on my bucket list to go to the Harry Potter World thing at Universal Studios. Let me know if you wanna come with me and I will be down to fly over there and fangirl.

Tips for going to the studios:
  1. Say it is your birthday. Wear a birthday badge. Trust me, you will thank me.
  2. I would say it takes about 3 hours to fully experience the studios and try everything (e.g. fly on the brooms, take photos, read everything, etc), however you could spend 4 or more hours there if you stopped at the cafĂ© on the way just before you see the backlot. If you are planning to stay longer, check the official website to see when the studios close on the day you are going.
  3. There are 2 merchandise shops. 1 is located on platform 9 and 3/4, where you see THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS. The items you can get in that shop is specific for the train and the platform, and you can't get any of the items you see in that shop in the main shop (except the wands). So if you see something you wanna get on the platform, get it then and there because the studios is one way and you might not be able to get back. The BIG FINAL shop is crazy, with people everywhere! You may want to look at the official website again to plan if you want to find anything in particular to get. The shops are slightly pricey, but what do you expect?? (chocolate frog- £8.95, keyrings/magnets- £4-£15, tshirts- £15-£40, wands- £20-£200, etc)
  4. Look up and down and all around in the main exhibition space because there are props and sets all over the place! You don't want to miss anything!
I think that is everything. I hope you are ok and MAYBE WHEN YOU ARE READING THIS YOU HAVE VISITED UNIVERSAL STUDIOS?!?!? A girl can dream!

Speak to you soon future anna. Stay magical!

You Have 1 New Voicemail

(beep)

Hi future anna, it's me. Or should I say you?
I have decided to start this blog as a sort of digital diary. When I first started youtube in 2013, all I wanted to do was post DIY videos. I was then swept away with all these different ideas and people doing crazy youtube things, both good and bad, that I just decided to stop. It was a difficult decision, but 7 months ago, I stopped posting to my channel. I had grown past my DIYs, however I had created a love for film and photography. That’s now what I want to do. Make films. I thought about vlogging as a digital diary, and even though I enjoyed it for the few days I tried it, I just couldn’t see myself wanting to film everything in my day and putting it up online for the world to see. So this blog is my new venture. I’m not doing it for money. I’m not doing it for fame. I’m doing it so that future anna can look back at these posts and see memories, photographs, video clips, and any other bits I want to put in here. It’s a bit like a scrapbook of voice mails. I don’t really know, but I like the idea.
A bit about me:
  1. I'm 18 and currently in my gap year. This gap year may last forever. I still don't know really.
  2. To be honest, I hate texting and much prefer speaking to someone in person, but I love telephone calls, so that is kinda what inspired me with the format of this blog.
  3. It is my dream to go in a seaplane. And be a film maker, but the seaplane dream seems cooler.
  4. I'm a vegetarian because I don't really enjoy the texture of meat. Eat whatever you want, you support me and I will support you.
  5. I have 7 cactus. They all have names and are basically my children.
  6. I am a fangirl. Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves, Bastille, Melanie Martinez, Mumford & Sons, Girli, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, and many, many more.
  7. There are lots more other things I could list but I will just give you those details for now. You will learn more about me if you want to through my posts and social media.
So I guess that is all for now. I don't think I am going to have a schedule or anything. I will post as often as I want my future self to know about. I should probably hang up now or I won't have any minutes left.
Bye anna, give me a ring back if you can.
